What is waxing?
Waxing is a form of hair removal which removes hair from the root slowing down regrowth.
While shaved hair will start growing again immediately, waxing typically lasts up to three weeks with you becoming hairy enough for your next wax in 4 - 6 weeks.

What type of wax do you use?
I use hot wax for both thick hair and sensitive skin and I use strip wax for large areas.What do I need to do in preparation?
- Be hairy! Ideally you would arrive with hair at least 4mm - 7mm long.
- Avoid Workouts Avoid doing a heavy workout immediately before your appointment as your skin can become more sensitive.
- If you shave please leave at least 2 weeks of growth before waxing.
- Please arrive clean, ideally freshly showered.
- For best results arrive with dry skin free of any lotions.
After Wax Information
Avoid the following for 24 hours after your wax:
- Swimming and exercise
- For Brazilian Wax, no sex, especially oral sex for 24 hours
- Tight clothing for legs / bikini wax
- Outdoor sun exposure
- Perfumed moisturizers and lotions
- Hot water / saunas
- Showering is ok but avoid soaps as they may block pores
- Deodorant with aluminum if underarms waxed
I've heard about a Brazilian, what does it involve?
A Brazilian Wax involves complete removal of all hair from the groin area with an optional landing strip. As this is a sensitive area, there are a number of considerations you may want to make.
I've got my period, is this a problem?
Your skin is often more sensitive near the time of your period and waxing can be more painful than normal. It is up to you, just wear a tampon and let me know.
I'm worried about it hurting
There are a few things you can do to minimise the discomfort. Be in a relaxed mood and limiting caffeine and alcohol for several hours prior to the appointment can help.
Some people choose to take Nurofen 30- 45 minutes before their appointment.
What can I expect to happen?
Waxing takes place in a private room with the door locked. You will be asked to remove any necessary clothing in order to reveal the area to be waxed.
For G-string and Brazilians you will also need to remove your underwear.
I'm pregnant, is waxing ok?
Waxing during pregnancy is common and considered safe, you may be more sensitive however due to hormone changes. Please let us know if you are pregnant and I will take extra care to make you comfortable.
